In 1989-91, BMG -- which had acquired the RCA Victor catalog and was later itself acquired by Sony--put out a series of 13 CDs titled "Nipper's Greatest Hits," divided into time periods: 1901-1920 The 20's The 30's, Vols. 1 & 2 The 40's, Vols. 1 & 2 The 50's, Vols. 1 & 2 The 60's, Vols. 1 & 2 The 70's The 80's Greatest Christmas Hits They're long out of print, but I've finally tracked them down and will post them in both FLAC and MP3 formats. The problem is where to put them, since since they cover 90 years of history and every genre of music. (The "complete CD" groups are absurd, since they cover everything in musical history, thus are meaningless as a category.) For the convenience of completists like myself, I'll post the entire set in the 78rpm-era group, even though only half of these recordings were actually issued on 78s, apologizing in advance for that chronological anomaly. I'll also toss them into the various decade groups into which they fit, including this note for those who see them elsewhere and want to get the full set.
